Join us for a day of prayer, reflection, and renewal as we journey to two extraordinary shrines in Northwest Indiana, the Carmelite Shrine in Munster and the Shrine of Christ’s Passion in St. John.
Our day begins at the Carmelite Shrine, a place of quiet reverence and contemplation, where the peaceful surroundings invite us to slow our hearts and rest in the presence of God. This sacred space offers time for personal prayer and reflection.
From there, we travel to the Shrine of Christ’s Passion for a deeply moving experience along its half-mile Prayer Trail. Walk through the Stations of the Cross like never before, surrounded by over 40 life-size bronze sculptures, beautifully landscaped gardens, and sacred music that draws you into the story of Christ’s final days. This immersive experience brings to life the final days of Jesus Christ, offering a profound encounter with His passion, crucifixion, and resurrection.

Our pilgrimage begins at the Carmelite Shrine in Munster, Indiana, where we will gather to celebrate Holy Mass, spend time in prayer, tour the shrine, and enjoy a delicious catered lunch.
The tranquil grounds of the shrine are home to several sacred spaces, including a Marian Grotto and the Stations of the Cross, with particular emphasis on the 14th Station, which is the Grotto of the Lord’s Tomb. Pilgrims will also visit the monastery church, which houses the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Ludźmierz, Queen of the Polish Highlanders. Additional places for prayer and reflection include the Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy and the Highlanders’ Chapel, along with other beautiful devotional spaces throughout the grounds.
Throughout the peaceful gardens, nestled among the trees, pilgrims will encounter statues of beloved Polish saints and Carmelite figures, including St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus and her father, St. Louis Martin, St. Raphael Kalinowski, St. Maximilian Kolbe, and St. John Paul II.
Guided by Fr. Jerome, we will prayerfully walk the Stations of the Cross at the Shrine of Christ’s Passion, following in the footsteps of our Lord. This sacred meditation invites us into a profound encounter with Christ as we reflect on His final journey.
Following the Stations, pilgrims will have time to explore the shrine’s other inspiring exhibits, including Moses and the Ten Commandments and the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Before boarding the bus and returning to St. Mary, be sure to spend time visiting the beautiful and vast shrine gift shop.
As our journey comes to an end, we will take time for final prayers and reflections with Fr. Jerome, leaving not just as fellow pilgrims, but as friends.
