Our first destination in Milwaukee will be the magnificent Basilica of St. Josaphat, one of the city’s most beloved Catholic treasures. Known for its breathtaking architecture modeled after St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, this sacred space lifts our hearts and minds to God through its beauty.

Here we will celebrate Holy Mass together at the altar, giving thanks for the gift of the day and asking the Lord to draw us deeper into the mystery of His Heart as we begin our pilgrimage. Following Mass, we’ll enjoy a guided tour that will enrich our appreciation for this remarkable church and its place in the Catholic history of Milwaukee.

Enjoy a guided historical tour of the shrine and peaceful time to walk the grounds and soak in the grace of this sacred place. We’ll then travel back to Huntley, arriving around 6:00 p.m., renewed in faith and deeply touched by Our Lady’s message and presence.

After our time at the Basilica, we’ll head over to Stemper’s Religious Gift Store, a Milwaukee landmark beloved by Catholics near and far. From beautiful statues and sacred art to rosaries, books, and devotional gifts, Stemper’s is the perfect place to find something meaningful to take home—or to pick up thoughtful Christmas gifts for loved ones.

This stop gives us a chance not only to shop but also to be reminded of the richness of our Catholic faith expressed through art and tradition, treasures that help keep our hearts rooted in Jesus during the Advent and Christmas seasons.

In the afternoon, we’ll visit the historic St. Stanislaus Oratory, a cornerstone of faith for Milwaukee’s Polish Catholic community. This beautiful church, entrusted to the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, is known for its reverent liturgy and stunning sacred art.

As we step inside, we’ll be invited to pause, pray, and take in the beauty of a parish that has been a home for Catholic devotion for generations. St. Stanislaus reminds us of the deep roots of faith in Milwaukee and the universality of the Church united in the Heart of Jesus.

Next, we’ll enjoy a hearty meal together at Milwaukee’s world-famous Mader’s German Restaurant. Known for its authentic cuisine and warm hospitality, Mader’s has been a cherished gathering place for over a century.

This is the perfect time to relax, share fellowship with one another, and savor a delicious lunch before continuing our journey. Good food and good company remind us of the joy of community, especially as we prepare our hearts for Christmas in the Heart of Jesus.

Our pilgrimage continues at Old St. Mary Parish, the oldest Catholic church still standing in Milwaukee. Built in 1846, this historic parish has long been a place where faith and community come together in the heart of the city.

Inside, we’ll take time to pray and reflect, surrounded by the simple yet timeless beauty of this sacred space. Old St. Mary’s reminds us of the enduring presence of the Catholic faith in Milwaukee and calls us to deepen our own trust in Christ as we prepare for the joy of Christmas.

We’ll finish our pilgrimage in the heart of the city at the Milwaukee Holiday Lights Festival in Cathedral Square Park. Here, the streets come alive with twinkling lights, festive displays, and the joy of the Christmas season.

As we walk through the park, we’ll sip on hot cocoa, savor fresh cookies, and take in the sparkling beauty that surrounds us. It’s the perfect way to conclude our day—encountering the sacred in prayer, experiencing the beautiful in Milwaukee’s churches, and delighting in the holiday spirit, all rooted in the Heart of Jesus.

As our pilgrimage draws to a close, we’ll board the motorcoach and head back to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntley. On the way, we’ll enjoy some final words and lighthearted entertainment from Fr. Jerome, a joyful way to wrap up our time together.

We’ll return not just as fellow travelers, but as friends, having shared prayer, laughter, and the beauty of Milwaukee at Christmastime. Along with the memories of sacred sites, fellowship, and holiday joy, we’ll carry home a renewed sense of peace and deeper closeness to the Heart of Jesus as we prepare to enter into the Christmas season.
