The Introduction to the Devout Life Retreat — Learn to Live Holy Right Where You Are — is a special weekend silent retreat inspired by the spiritual wisdom of St. Francis de Sales, bishop and Doctor of the Church, and based on his timeless spiritual classic, Introduction to the Devout Life. This retreat is designed to help ordinary men and women discover that holiness is possible in every vocation and state of life.
Throughout the weekend, participants will learn how to cultivate a faithful and consistent prayer life, learn how to meditate, how to turn away from sin and attachment to sin, and the practical steps needed to grow in virtue and become a saint while living out their daily responsibilities in family life, work, and the world.
The retreat will also include opportunities for spiritual direction, general confession, silence, prayer, Mass (off-site), and personal time with Jesus, along with the chance to rest and reflect on the beautiful 40-acre grounds of The Mission of Cor Jesu, enjoy homemade meals, and stay in beautiful private overnight accommodations.
Please note that while we do our best to be accommodating, due to the nature of shared meals during the retreat, we are unable to accommodate dietary preferences. If you have a food allergy or medically necessary dietary restriction, please contact us directly ahead of time so that we can make appropriate arrangements.
