Our journey then leads us to the Cathedral of St. Raphael in Dubuque, a sanctuary steeped in grace and history. As the cherished "Mother Church" of the Archdiocese, its sacred roots stretch back to 1833, echoing the faith of the region's very first missionaries. Originally built as a stone church in 1835 by the pioneering Dominican priest Father Samuel Mazzuchelli, this holy ground now stands as the foundational seat of the entire Catholic Ecclesiastical Province of Iowa. Upon arrival, pilgrims will gather in this beautiful cradle of faith to participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, celebrated by Father DiTomo.
Experience the flavors of the heartland with a classic Iowa luncheon catered to the cathedral hall. Enjoy a classic Iowa lunch featuring tender roasted chicken, all the fixin's and homemade pie.
